This conference table was made for the Stark Center at the University of Texas in Austin. The Stark family made its fortune logging longleaf pine along the Sabine River in the 19th century, and much of the wood in this table was made with an old log pulled from the bottom of the Sabine. The raised panels in the pedestals and the inlay in the top are curly pine; there are also accents in mesquite. This is recycling in its highst form.
