The panels in this king-size bed are made of Texas spalted pecan.
Spalting refers to the black lines and marbled effect appearing in
the wood and is the result of micro-organisms that can attack a
tree after it has died. This rather unattractive sounding process
can impart a striking visual enhancement to the material which
is prized by many of us who work in wood. Matching bedside
chests can be seen in the background.
