The raised panels and drawer front are made of spalted pecan.
Spalting is the resulted of micro-organisms that can attack a tree
after it has died. This unpleasant sounding process often results in
rare and unusually figured lumber. An armoire is a versatile piece
that can be used for everything from storing home entertainment
equipment to functioning as additional closet, with the advantage
that you can take it with you if you move. Dovetail joints in the drawer
are cut by hand. This is a contemporary piece of furniture with the
feel of a fine antique.
